Younger Niche and Martin Bencher handle Valmet's Younger Niche are teaming with Martin Bencher (Scandanavia) to handle all cargo for Valmet to Asia Pulp and Paper Co. Ltd (APP), Zhenjiang. As a continuation of the successful start-up of the world's largest off-machine coating and finishing line for double-coated fine paper, APP decided to extend their coated paper capacity and ordered a similar off-machine coating line number two to Gold East Paper Jiangsu at the Dagang Mill in China. The new line will come on stream in summer 2001. Transportation of the equipment began in July, 2000. The current delivery will include an off-machine OptiCoater with four OptiCoat Jet coating stations, two re-reelers, two OptiLoad multinip calenders, two JR 1000 production winders, a WinBelt rewinder, pulpers and auxiliary equipment. Younger Niche and Martin Bencher handled the transport of the Valmet-supplied coating line number one in Dagang, which has a web width of 9,770 mm. This coating line enjoyed a world record for start-up time in spring 1999. Much credit was given to the timely transport of equipment from Europe. The delicate machinery required delicate handling. The precision equipment arrived in rolls of up to 16 meters long. If the rolls were disformed in any way then they would be unusable. The Younger Niche/Martin Bencher team ensured that all the delicate parts were delivered to APP in perfect condition.
The OptiCoater is equipped with four OptiCoat Jet coating stations, nearly 10 meters wide. One can get an idea of the size of the machine by comparing the height of the operator standing in front of it to the diameter of the backing roll of the Jet station. |
